What is a Photo Tour?

It´s an experience in which a Professional Photographer who also has experience guiding tours will guide your group on a route that covers iconic places in Puerto Vallarta that make the perfect backdrop for your photos. Meet your guide, click here.


Why does the Photo Tour begin at 8:00am?

◊    Natural light at this time of the morning is the most flattering.
There is also very little people walking on the designed route which will translate in better photos.

◊    We can never assure you there won’t be anyone but you and your party in every shot, however doing the Photo Tour at that time will increase the chances.

◊    The heat and humidity are very low early in the morning so you won’t have to worry about sweating during this Photo Tour.


Who can take a Photo Tour?

This experience is for everyone.
Please take into consideration that more people might be joining the Photo Tour, if you have special request or needs then a book a Private Photo Tour or a Private Photo Shoot.


What´s the difference between a Private Photo Tour and a Private Photo Shoot?

◊    In a Private Photo Tour you are taken through a route we have designed full of iconic spots in Vallarta´s Downtown and Old Town neighborhoods, but it´s only you and your party. Click here to see more details.

◊    In a Private Photo Shoot you get to pick where to go and what to do. There are many packages to choose from depending on party size, duration and location(s) chosen. Click here to see more details.

We can also suggest some locations after your booking.


How big is the group in a Photo Tour?

◊    In order to provide you with a fun and worthy experience we limit the group to 6 people.

◊    Consider booking a Private Photo Tour or a Private Photo Shoot If your party is bigger than 6 people.


What happens if I arrive late?

◊    Be punctual! If you are 15 minutes early you are on time. If you arrive on time, you are already late.

◊    We begin the tour at 8 am o´clock.

◊    If you arrive once your group has already left, it will be considered a no-show and the full Photo Tour fee will be charged.


Are there extra fees for transportation or entrance to venues?

◊    Please consider bringing cash, in this Photo Tour we only walk outdoors, however fun things happen all the time here in Puerto Vallarta along our Photo Tour Route, should there be a unanimous consensus among all Photo Tour participants to enter a venue during the duration of the Photo Tour to get more photos there then your Photo Tour Leader will give it a go.

◊    Cost of transportation for you and your party to the meet-up location or during the Photo Tour is not included.

◊    You are also responsible for any additional entrance fees, any paid activities or services (for example, park entrance fee, rides, boat, tours, taxi, bus, parking, restaurants, etc) required for you and the photographer(s).


What is your canceling and rescheduling policy?

◊    If you cancel 7 days in advance, no worries. We will issue a full refund for your booking excluding any transaction or conversion fee.

◊    If you cancel past that time frame you will be charged 100% of your booking fee and the remaining will be refunded excluding any transaction or conversion fee.

◊    If you are rescheduling with less than 7 days in advance, we will do our best to assign you a spot another day. If we are unable to find a time and date, we will issue a full refund excluding any transaction or conversion fees.


What´s your copyright policy?

◊    Feel free to make all the prints you want.

◊    You will share a perpetual non-exclusive personal-use license of the images. No worries, we will never transfer copyright to those images to third-parties nor will we use them without your prior consent.

◊    Your Photographer retains copyright on all images.

◊    Vallarta Photo Photo Tours and/or the Photographer might use the images for self-promotion on the Website, social media, outlets, magazines, etc. Again, no worries, we will never transfer copyright to those images to third-parties nor we will use them without your prior consent.

◊    You are not allowed to use the image(s) in any way in which you charge money, collect fees, or receive any kind of remuneration. This includes but is not limited to use the images in advertising, they cannot be resold, re-licensed or sub-licensed.

◊    You are not allowed to alter in anyway the images nor do adaptations of any kind but are free to do all the prints you´d like.

What is a Private Photo Tour?

It´s an experience in which a Professional Photographer who also has experience guiding tours will guide your group on a predesigned route that covers iconic places in Puerto Vallarta that make the perfect backdrop for your photos.  Meet your guide, click here.

In this tour it´s only you and your companions.


Where does it take place?

The route has been designed to walk though iconic places in Puerto Vallarta Downtown and Old Town neighborhoods that make the perfect backdrop for your photos.


Why does the Private Photo Tour begin at 8 am?

What´s the difference between a Private Photo Tour and a Private Photo Shoot?

In a Private Photo Tour you are taken through a predesigned route. It´s only you and your party.

In a Private Photo Shoot you get to pick where to go and what to do. There are many packages to choose from depending on party size, duration and location(s) chosen.


What´s the latest I can book a Private Photo Tour?

Bookings should be made at least 8 days in advance to secure your spot. If for any reason you book with less than seven days in advance we will do our best to assign you a Photographer but keep in mind that all  bookings for any of our services are offered subject to availability of Photographers. We make no guarantees about the availability of any particular Photographer for any of our photo tour services.


What happens if I arrive late?

◊    Be punctual! If you are 15 minutes early you are on time. If you arrive on time, you are already late.

◊    Please arrive 15 minutes early at the meet-up location. Please have in mind that time runs as scheduled and your photographer might have another shoot after yours.

◊    If you arrive 30 minutes late without notifying us you will be considered a no-show and the full photo shoot fee will be charged. If you notified us about arriving late, please consider that your photographer might not be able to stay longer.

◊    When you arrive late, all time that has passed will be forfeited and you may do the shoot for the remaining time.

◊    If you arrive late and wish to extend the photoshoot and if your Photographer is available to stay longer, the extra waiting time will be charged at a rate of $60 USD per hour on top of our fee for an extended session of $150 USD per hour.

◊    Extended session time is charged at $150 USD per hour, applicable if you would like to purchase more time and given that your Photographer is available.

What is a Private Photo Shoot?

◊    It´s an experience in which a professional photographer specialized in travel and event photography follows you and your party to your chosen venue or event.

◊    You can also buy a time/package and let your photographer suggest a location, venue or event.

Where does it take place?

◊    Please take into consideration when making a reservation that the we work within a 19 miles (30Kms) radius from Puerto Vallarta´s Downtown, an additional fee may be charged if the meet-up / photo shoot takes place outside that radius.

◊    Our Photographers are liable for the costs of their own transport to the meet-up or photo shoot location within a 19 miles (30Kms) radius from Puerto Vallarta´s Downtown, an additional fee may be charged if the meet-up / photo shoot takes place outside that radius.

◊    Cost of transportation for you and your party to any pre-arranged meet-up and/or photo shoot location is not included.

◊    You are also responsible for any additional entrance fees, any paid activities or services (for example, park entrance fee, rides, boat, tours, taxi, bus, parking, restaurants, etc) required for you and the photographer(s).


What is the best time for a photo shoot?

We can go out at any given time,

◊    If the photoshoot takes place outdoors, consider that the most flattering light happens early in the morning and right before sunset.

◊    Another consideration is that heat and humidity are very low at those times of the day, so you won’t have to worry about sweating during the photoshoot.


Who should take a Private Photo Shoot?

Anyone who would like to take back home great captures of its trip.

What is a PhotoWalk Tour?

It´s a fun activity where a group of photography enthusiasts gather to go out and take photos during a walk through the city.

If you have taken photo walks before you know how much fun it is to be with like-minded people who will not mind staying more than 5 mins at the same spot until everyone gets the perfect shot.


Why take a PhotoWalk Tour?

When being around more photographers either pro or amateur you learn lots from their personal experiences.

◊    Many things are achieved when taking a photo walk:

◊    You´ll bring great memories back home.

Who guides the PhotoWalks?

Your PhotoWalk Tour guide is a local professional photographer who loves Mexican history and culture. She´s also a foodie and has led more than 3K people on Food Tours here in Vallarta. All in all she´ll ensure you enjoy this one-of-a-kind photography experience.


Where will I go?

You´ll be taken –depending on the route you chose- to both iconic as well as off the beaten path places. The routes have been planned in order to get you to places where you´ll take great shots at the best times possible.


What kind of shots can I get during these PhotoWalks?

There is a wide variety of choices, from landscapes, wild life, street, people, architecture, etc. It all depends on which photo-walk you choose. Every photo-walk has a description on what you can expect to shoot.


Who should take a PhotoWalk?

Any person interested in photography: rookies and pros, bloggers, general public, people who would like to make the most of their stay in the city.

Solo travelers, families, group of friends and incentive groups are welcome.


I´m new to photography, Can I take a PhotoWalk Tour?

Yes.

Our PhotoWalk Tours are for everyone.

If you are new to photography this will be a great opportunity to learn from your peers.


Is it only for seasoned photographers?

No.

Everyone is welcome regardless of expertise.

Please note that basic knowledge on how to use your DSLR is required. If you bring something different from a DSLR camera you will enjoy learning composition rules.


What can I expect and what will I learn?

First and foremost you will Experience Photography & Mexican Culture at the same time while having a fun time with a Local Photographer.

When being around more photographers either pro or amateur expect to learn lots from their personal experiences.

If you are a rookie: You will learn some of the basic rules of composition. We have selected a list the top ten rules to get you started on taking amazing photos.

If you are a pro: You will get to practice, get to know new places, meet like-minded people, all of these while having fun and experiencing Mexican culture.

Everyone will discover places where you might want to come back later and try more shots. Forget about guessing where to go and what times are best or how to get there, we have already taken care of that.


How many people are there per group?

To ensure the best experience for our guests we limit our groups to 6-7 people.


Can I take a PhotoWalk if I don´t have professional photography gear?

Yes.

◊    You can bring any device that takes photos: DSLR, point and shoot, bridge, IPad, smartphone, etc. and learn composition rules that will improve your photos right away.

◊    If you bring a DSLR your PhotoWalk Leader will help you understand how to take advantage of the manual mode. Please note that since there are many cameras available in the market, it is important that you know your camera menus or bring your manual with you.


What kind of equipment do I need?

Any of the following: DSLR camera, point and shoot camera, smartphone with camera, iPad or any other device that will capture images.


Beside my camera and gear, what else do I need to bring?

◊    Comfortable shoes, our cobble-stoned streets are better walked in comfy shoes with non-slip soles. Flip flops will get you tired quickly and you also need to protect your feet.

◊    Sunscreen and a hat.

◊    Tripod and filters are optional but a plus if you take the ¨Yelapa Rural Town and Waterfalls¨ PhotoWalk Tour.

◊    Pocket change should you want to buy something along the way. Any transportation cost is not included and we will take a bus in a couple of our PhotoWalk Tours. In some cases we will stop for food and drinks and these costs are not included. Bringing pesos for these expenses is desirable because you will get a better exchange rate at a bank or ATM.

◊    When rain is a possibility consider bringing a rain coat or rain poncho. Also a dry bag for all your equipment.

◊    Bug repellent if you are taking a tour during July, August & September.


What is an appropriate compensation for my PhotoWalk leader?

Tips in our city go from 10% to 15% of the cost of your PhotoWalk Tour.


Can children come along?

Only 13 year olds and up.
